Ecuador's national flag is a tricolor flag with a 2:3 vertical and horizontal ratio. It is composed of yellow, blue and red stripes (namely Miranda) with a 2:1:1 width ratio. Those with national emblems in the middle are government flags and military flags, and those without are civil flags.
The current color of the Ecuadorian flag was adopted on September 26, 1860, December 5, 1900 to add the national emblem in the center of the flag, and on November 16, 2009, the vertical and horizontal ratio was changed from 1:2 to 2:3.
The three colors are: yellow symbolizes gold, agriculture and mining resources; Blue represents the sky, the ocean and the equator; Red represents the blood of free and independent victims.
