<p>The South African flag was inaugurated on 27 April 1994. The national flag is rectangular, with a ratio of 3:2. It is made up of six colors: red, green, blue, white, black and yellow. It is y-shaped (the official explanation is that V then flows to a flat line, not Y). The upper area of the flag is red, the lower area is blue, each accounting for one-third of the width of the flag, red represents blood, blue represents the sky. In the center of the flag is a horizontal y-shaped three-color bar, accounting for one third of the width of the flag, symbolizing the convergence of different South African nations, common development, together to the road ahead. A black triangle used to separate the red and blue areas and to connect the cloth of the flagpole. Black represents black. The middle color of the three-color bar is green, whose width accounts for one fifth of the width of the flag, representing the land.
